Nanrobot D6+ Electric Scooter: Design, Performance and Features
The Nanrobot D6+ features an aluminum alloy body and weighs 77 lbs, but don’t worry, its foldable design enables the rider to easily pick it up if needed. However, 77 lbs is pretty heavy to carry around and you will need a car to transport it to higher distances. Foldable design is just for easier transport and to take it up or down the stairs, and that’s it. The D6+ features high quality locking mechanism with a two-stage locking system. It means that it consists of two separate parts, primary and secondary, ensuring the stem to stay in position if the primary locking mechanism comes unlatched while riding.
The Nanrobot D6+ is not portable electric scooter, this is an ultimate off-road beast. In terms of overall specs and weight the D6+ is on par with the Varla Eagle One and Yume D4+.
One of the coolest features of the D6+ are the lights. It is equipped with extra bright LED headlight, taillight for better visibility on road, side lights for better visibility as well as for extra cool appearance and turn signal lights, one on each side of the deck.
Brakes and Suspension
Since the Nanrobot D6+ is a high speed e-scooter with top speed of 40 mph it requests some really good breaking system. So, the D6+ comes with some serious braking power, and if you break strong it will stop almost in place and you will need to prepare yourself for instant stopping. It combines electronic braking and hydraulic brake for maximum braking power. There are two variants of Nanrobot D6+, with mechanical disc brakes or with hydraulic (oil) brakes. It’s hard to say which brakes deliver more power, but hydraulic brakes are considered as better, so I always choose those if I can.
Both front and rear wheel are equipped with spring shock absorbers and dual fork (on both side of the wheels). This, combined with 10″ pneumatic wide off-road tires ensuring smooth ride over bumps and while riding on off-road trails. Add to that a wide standing deck and rear foot rest and there is one smooth and comfortable ride in front of you. The Nanrobot D6+ is cinsidered as one of the most comfortable electric scooters.
Cockpit
The D6+ features a lot of thumbs, levers and handles on handlebars. It is expected since there is a lot of available choices and settings. Don/t worry, everything is ergonomicaly designed and easy to use. There are two brake levers, LCD display, On/Off switch, horn button, key lock, single/dual motor button etc.
Nanrobot D6+ Electric Scooter: Motor, Battery, Speed and Range
The Nanrobot D6+ is a long range electric scooter able to go up to 45 miles on a single charge. This is possible thanks to a dual 2000 W (2 x 1000 W motor, on each whel one) powered via 52V, 26 Ah high capacity battery. The motor speeds up instantly enabling the rider to achieve top speed of 40 mph in seconds.
You need to keep in mind that top speed and maximum distance are depending on terrain, rider’s weight, riding style etc. If you are engaging both motors with full throttle the battery drains much faster. The battery lasts longest on single motor usage and in Eco mode with cruising speed of around 20 mph (half the top speed). Also, on uphills battery will drain faster than on flat terrains.
The Nanrobot D6+ has two charging ports and if you use both charging ports charging time will drop to half. If you are using one charger to fully recharge the D6+ you will need 10 hours. However, with two chargers this time halves to only 5 hours. Regrettably, second charger is not packed with the scooter and you will need to buy it separately.
The Nanrobot D6+ costs between $1499 ( with disc brakes) and $1899 (with disc brakes and seat).
