Gotrax is already a well known brand of electric scooters and electric bikes. Headquarters, shipping and customer support are in Dallas, Texas, which is a significant advantage when it comes to customer service and possible complaints because the deadlines for responding to customer complaints are significantly shortened.
In this review of the Gotrax G4 we will show you is one of the top commuting electric scooters available on the market. It’s a part of the G series of electric scooters together with the GMAX Ultra and the G Pro electric scooter with 3 wheels. G Series of electric scooters is specially developed for commuters.

Design of the Gotrax G4 Electric Scooter
Some of the best selling and most popular scooters by Gotrax are the Gotrax GXL V2, the XR Ultra and the GMAX Ultra commuting scooters. The Gotrax G4 came as a big brother of the popular GXL V2 model. What can be immediately noticed is that the Gotrax G4 has a whole host of improvements. The most noticeable is the advanced design. It could be said to be reminiscent of the Ninebot Max or Xiaomi mi365 pro, but with a much better cost/value ratio (the Gotrax G4 costs $669, and at the moment you can find it on Amazon, just follow the link).
Motor, Battery, Speed & Range
In addition to the new design, the Gotrax G4 brings numerous exciting features such as a 350 W engine, 25 mile battery range, 20 mph top speed, 10″ air filled tires, and a high waterproof rating (IP54). Instead of 250 W motor at the GXL V2 it now has 350 W motor. Of course a stronger motor means more speed as well as the maximum distance G4 can cover.
The maximum speed of the Gotrax G4 electric scooter is as much as 20 mph, which is much faster compared to the GXL V2 with top speed of 15.5 mph. This is a serious upgrade that will appeal to all fans of faster driving and commuters. With a higher top speed, the maximum travel distance is increased and now you can travel as far as 25 miles before you need to recharge the battery, or exactly twice as far as with the GXL V2.
Tires & Brakes
What we especially liked at the G4 is the fact that Gotrax has kept wide standing platform with 10-inch pneumatic tires for extra comfort and stability over various bumps. Of course, the braking system is a dual brake system, which is expected for a scooter with top speed of 20 mph where more braking power is needed.
As another improvement we can add new digital display, digital lock, improved headlight, and reduced motor noise. These are all details that make us feel satisfied with the new model.
One of the features of the Gotrax G4 scooter that we did not like is slightly bigger weight of this model (36 LBS). This could be a problem when carrying this scooter in your hand for a long time, but since it is a commuting scooter, we assume that most users will not mind because even if they carry it, it will most likely be during a short public transport ride and on arrival to work (in the elevator or up the stairs).

Gotrax G4 Elecric Scooter – Final Verdict
Overall, we liked the Gotrax G4 and it is a real refreshment in the electric scooter market. We weren’t especially impressed by the price of $782.98, but most popular brands have increased their prices in the last few months. There are 2 main reasons for that – shortage of parts and increasing demand for quality electric scooters.
