Gotrax is already a well known brand of hoverboards and electric scooters. Headquarters, shipping and customer support are in Dallas, Texas, which is a significant advantage when it comes to customer service and possible complaints because the deadlines for responding to customer complaints are significantly shortened.
We have previously introduced their most popular and best-selling scooter on the market, the Gotrax GXL V2 commuting scooter, and today we present a review of their top electric scooter. It is the Gotrax G4, part of the G series of electric scooters to which also belongs the Gotrax G3, the line of scooter specially developed for commuters.

Features and Characteristics of Gotrax G4 Electric Scooter
As we mentioned, the best-selling and most popular scooter from the range of electric scooters by Gotrax is the Gotrax GXL V2 commuting scooter. The Gotrax G4 should represent big brother of that popular model. What can be immediately noticed is that the Gotrax G4 has a whole host of improvements. The most noticeable is the advanced design. It could be said to be reminiscent of the Ninebot Max or Xiaomi m365 pro, but with a much better cost / value ratio (Gotrax G4 costs less than $600, but you can find it for $500 on Gotrax Shop).
In addition to the new design, the Gotrax G4 brings numerous exciting features such as a 350 W engine, 25 mile battery range, 20 mph top speed, 10″ air filled tires, and a high waterproof rating (IP54). Instead of 250 W motor at the GXL V2 it now has 350 W motor. Of course a stronger motor means more speed as well as the maximum distance G4 can cover. The maximum speed of the Gotrax G4 electric scooter is as much as 20 mph, which is much faster compared to the GXL V2 with top speed of 15.5 mph. This is a serious upgrade that will appeal to all fans of faster driving and commuters. With a higher top speed, the maximum travel distance is increased and now you can travel as far as 25 miles before you need to recharge the battery, or exactly twice as far as with the GXL V2.
What we especially liked at the G4 is the fact that Gotrax has kept wide standing platform with 10-inch air inflated tires for extra comfort and stability over various bumps. Of course, the braking system is a dual brake system, which is expected for a scooter with top speed of 20 mph where more braking power is needed. As another improvement we can add new digital display, digital lock, improved headlight, and reduced motor noise. These are all details that make us feel satisfied with the new model.

One of the features of the Gotrax G4 scooter that we did not like is slightly bigger weight of this model (36 LBS). This could be a problem when carrying this scooter in your hand for a long time, but since it is a commuting scooter, we assume that most users will not mind because even if they carry it, it will most likely be during a short public transport ride and on arrival to work (in the elevator or up the stairs).
Final Verdict
Overall, we liked the Gotrax G4 and it is a real refreshment in the electric scooter market. We were especially impressed by the price of $600, which was additionally lowered to $500 for the first customers, so it would not be bad to hurry up and buy your scooter at a reduced promotional price.
