Hiboy electric scooters are among most popular and best-selling e-scooter models today. The S2 line of Hiboy electric scooters consists of three models, S2 Lite which is intended for kids, S2 and S2 Pro, both commuting electric scooters. I decided to immediately introduce the best one, the S2 Pro. Why? It’s simple, this model impressed me the most, and I think you will like it too.

Of course, in this review I will also bring to you to some features of the S2 model as well as a comparative overview of the basic features and differences between the S2 and S2 Pro models, so you could have a complete insight and decide which one suits you better. Let me tell you right away, the basic difference between the Hiboy S2 and S2 Pro is in the maximum range, ie the battery life and wheel size. But let’s not rush, I’ll start over.

Design and Main Features of Hiboy S2 Pro Electric Scooter

Hiboy S2 Pro is a high quality electric scooter. Its compact and foldable design with a relatively light weight of only 36 lbs allows it to be easily carried when not driving. The frame is made of quality aluminum alloy, and I especially liked large and clear control display centrally positioned between the handlebars. This way you can easily monitor the current speed or battery status at any time.

All settings on the control display are clearly presented and visible, and they are controlled using a single button control. Use this button to turn on the lights on the scooter (one click), change the driving mode (two clicks, there are 2 driving modes on the Hiboy S2 Pro, Comfort and Sport), and turn on or off Cruise Control (three clicks) which saves battery but also limits the speed and scooter performance. The same system, with a slightly different layout, exists on the S2 model. Once again, I really liked the control display, it is visually pleasant and easy to use.

The emphasis, as with the S2 model, is on portability. In just a few strokes, the S2 Pro turns from driving ready to folded position. All you have to do is fold it with simple folding mechanism, and the hook on the handlebar will attach to the holder on the rear fender, leaving it in a folded position that is suitable for carrying. As we said, it weighs only 36 lbs so it is very practical if you need to take it in public transport, in an elevator or up the stairs. When assembled, its dimensions are 45.3 x 16.5 x 19.3 inches and it can easily be packed in a car trunk, under office desk or bed.

Unlike the S2 model which has 8-inch wheels, the Hiboy S2 Pro has 10-inch wheels, so it is bigger than its younger brother in that aspect. The wheels are made of solid rubber. Under the standing deck is a 36 V, 7.5 Ah Lithium-Ion battery pack. You may object the fact that the wires are partially visible, especially at the top and bottom of the handlebar. However, wires fit into the entire design of the scooter, but there are those riders who are bothered by it, so we mentioned this detail. One more nice feature is a kickstand, so the scooter remains upstraight when parked. One more thing I liked are double suspensions on both wheels for a smoother ride experience, especially over the bumps.

Both, the S2 and S2 Pro are connected to the Hiboy App, available for Android and iOS. Through the Hiboy App you can control the Hiboy S2 Pro scooter’s overall performance like acceleration and braking can be controlled by the app.

Motor, Battery, Speed and Range of Hiboy S2 Pro

The Hiboy S2 Pro has 350 W brushless motor placed in front wheel. It is powered by a 36 V, 11.4 Ah lithium ion battery, which all together affects its speed and range. The maximum speed of the Hiboy S2 Pro is 19 mph, a bit more than S2 model (maximum speed of S2 is 18 mph). But the real difference between these 2 models is in battery life and maximum range on a single charge. While the maximum range of S2 is 17 miles or around 1 hour of continuous ride, at the S2 Pro maximum driving range is 25 miles or almost 1.5 hours of continuous ride. However, I couldn’t believe this huge difference between these two, almost identical electric scooters.

When the battery runs out, you need about 6 hours to fully recharge it. So, if you use it as a commuting vehicle there is a plenty of time to recharge it on work or during night while you are sleeping.
