The price is around $340, which is quite a great deal considering what you get.

Design and Main Features of Hover-1 Alpha Electric Scooter

Hover-1 electric scooters are characterized by quality workmanship and hard and durable frames, which can carry riders weighing up to 280 lbs (Hover-1 Engine). Such is the Hover-1 Alpha, it is characterized by a beautiful design with mild edges and a relatively wide standing deck covered with anti-slip material. In the center of the standing deck is a beautiful Hover-1 logo in light blue, which I really liked. It has a solid steering bar with quality ergonomically shaped rubber handles for excellent ergonomics and control. In the center of the steering bar is an LCD screen that shows the speed, riding mode and battery status.

Hover-1 Alpha is intended for adult drivers because it has a load capacity of 264 lbs, but with its design and appearance it is closer to teenagers and younger drivers. Like other Hover-1 electric scooters, the Hover-1 Alpha is a compact, lightweight and foldable scooter. With the help of a simple folding mechanism, you will assemble/disassemble this scooter in just a few seconds. Its weight is 36 lbs, so it is easy to carry it in case you get into public transport, elevator or you have to take it up the stairs. When unfolded its dimensions are 49 x 9 x 44 inches, and when it is folded 19.2 x 9 x 44 inches, so you can easily put it anywhere in the office or at home. I really liked its quick folding mechanism which consists of one latch that you can easily raise or lower when you want to unfold/fold. Simple solutions are usually the best.

It is true that the Hover-1 Alpha has an LED headlight, taillight as well as side positioned red reflective lights, but it seems to me that the LED headlight could be stronger and brighter. Of course, you can always add lighting to a handlebar, which has plenty of space if you want to power up the lights.

The motor produces enough power for a top speed of 18 mph, making this model the fastest in the line of Hover-1 electric scooters for adults.

However, I was disappointed that the maximum range of this model is only 12 miles or about 40 minutes of continuous driving on a single charge. This can be problem if you want to use it for commuting. However, if you ride it over flat terrain at a distance of less than 12 miles you will have enough time to recharge the battery while you are at work or during the night as it takes approximately 6 hours to fully recharge the battery.

The batteries are designed to last about 5,000 cycles after which you will need to replace them if you want to have maximum performance. 5,000 cycles is a fairly long period of normal use, which means your batteries will last at least 5 years, probably more, before replacement.
