Review of New Hover-1 Rogue: Revolutionary Foldable Hoverboard With 10" Tires

We’ve shared a number of hoverboards at our blog in the last year. There are huge variety of designs that are currently available to consumers. And just when we thought we had seen it all one more option has hit the market. It is Hover-1 Rogue with a foldable frame and 10″ tires. This new hoverboard by Hover-1 uses extra powerful dual 500W motor. The 29-pound two-wheeler comes in at just 29.6″ x 10.9″ x 10.8″ when completely folded up.

A Li-ion battery provides between 7 to 10 miles on a single charge depending on your speed, weight of the driver etc. There are three different riding modes: beginner, intermediate and expert mode. It tops at 7 mph thanks to its lightweight and aerodynamic design that is made for riders of up to 264 lbs.

Foldable hoverboards are a curiosity for most. They are great for commuters in their last miles. And when they come to the destination, you can fold it in few second and take it with you to the office, train, bus, home and everywhere else. The Hover-1 Rogue takes this idea and nukes it with practical and modern design.

Design and Features

Unfolding the Rogue is quite easy with a locking clamp attached to carrying handle which protrudes from standing deck. Just ull this handle and it will start folding mechanism hidden bellow the deck. That means folding and unfolding the Rogue takes less than 5 seconds. At 29lbs, it isn’t too tough to get in and out of the trunk.

The tires on this hoverboard are 10″ tires with a low rolling resistance tread. That means this is a hybrid at best and realistically mostly a flat surface hoverboard. The riding feels smooth for a 200+pounder. As you might expect with the powerful 500 W motor, the throttle is exciting. On flat land, my 200+lb. body goes from 0-7 on in close to 5 seconds. My son who is under 100 lbs hits 7 mph almost immediately.

I found myself using expert mode most of the time which made it easy to hit 7 mph with no problem. After all, this is stable and easy to learn hoverboard and after few starting minutes everyone will prefer expert mode.

I must say that overall design of the Rogue made me fall in love with it instantly. Hover-1 logo , front LED lights and bumper LED lights create an unreal experience during a night drive.

Of course, the Rogue is app enabled and via the app you can track your stats like speed, traveled distance, battery status, position using GPS, adjust LED colors and switch between riding modes. Also, using built-in Bluetooth speaker you can play your favorite tunes while riding.

Final Verdict

Folding hoverboards aren’t for everyone and 500W rocket-powered Rogue is probably for even fewer people. But if you like to have tons of fun, commute to a city, need to put your hoverboard in the trunk of your car or need to carry it is a blast.
