The Turboant X7 and X7 Pro are midrange budget electric scooters that at first glance do not differ from similar competing models on the market. However, one important thing sets them apart, and that is the detachable battery pack, and because of that, at least in theory, they can be driven indefinitely without stopping (of course, in case you have enough spare batteries that you can change). In any case, Turboant electric scooters are among the high quality electric scooters whose price is very affordable and ranges around $500. I decided to write this review because they are very reliable, beautifully designed and they appearance simply delighted me. Let’s see why electric scooter riders often choose these models.
Design of Turboant X7 and X7 Pro
When it comes to the design of Turboant X7 and X7 Pro electric scooters, they share an identical platform and do not differ when you look at them. The essential difference is not visible, but it is definitely felt while driving. I’ll talk more about that later. The design has sophisticated lines that flow from the steering rod through the standing deck to the wheels. When you look at it, you have the impression that it is gently swaying in front of you, preparing for an energetic kick of. And don’t be fooled by that gentle and sophisticated lines of Turboant electric scooters, behind that hides a real small beast with impressive features and performance, especially in the urban environments for which it is intended. After all, these are commuting scooters.
What sets the X7 and X7 Pro apart from a bunch of similar electric scooters on the market is the detachable battery pack mounted on the inner side of the steering rod (at the X7 Pro, at the X7 detachable battery is packed inside steering rod, so it’s a bit more complicated to remove it, but not too much). When discharged, the battery is easily removed and can be immediately replaced with a spare battery thus doubling the maximum range. The battery fits nicely into the steering rod, so it does not pop out and the elegance is completely retained.
The entire construction of Turboant electric scooters is made of quality aluminum alloy, which is why both models are lightweight, X7 weighs 30 lbs and X7 Pro 33 lbs. The wide standing platform is sufficient for comfortable standing and has an anti-slip surface for better stability. The main difference in the design of the X7 and X7 Pro electric scooters is in the size of the wheels. The X7 has 8.5-inch pneumatic tires, and the X7 Pro has 10-inch pneumatic tires. I always recommend electric scooters with bigger wheels because riding on them is more pleasant and comfortable, especially if you cross over uneven roads. Pneumatic wheels improve driving comfort because the air absorbs vibration while driving.
Of course, both X7 and X7 Pro are compact, portable and foldable, and with a simple one-touch latch switch, you can fold both models in just a few seconds. On the upper part of the steering rod, there is a small hook which, when folded, attaches to the holder on the rear wheel fender, for easier carrying.
In both models, the engine is located in the front wheel and is covered. There are not too many protruding wires on Turboant electric scooters, which makes for an even more elegant look. Both the X7 and X7 Pro have built-in LED headlights and taillights for night driving. The lights on the X7 Pro are 3W, and on the X7 1W, which means that the X7 Pro has stronger and better lighting. On the steering wheel there are modern and stylish LED displays that are very clear and they show the current speed and the current state of the battery.
Main Features, Motor, Battery, Speed and Range of X7 and X7 Pro
It is the features, engine, battery and range that make these two models most different. Let’s see where the difference lies. The X7 Pro has three riding modes, Beginner, Eco and Sports mode. Beginner mode is intended for beginners and if activated the maximum speed of the X7 Pro electric scooter is 6 mph, Eco mode is used to extend battery life and the maximum speed in Eco mode is 10 mph, and in Sports mode the maximum speed is 20 mph. of course, the battery drains the fastest in Sports mode.
At the X7 there are also 3 speed setting or modes. The first one is Slope-climbing gear best for slopes where maximum speed is 7.5 mph. The second is Medium-speed gear with maximum speed of 17.5 mph and the fastest is High-speed gear with maximum speed of 20 mph. As you can see, maximum speed st both models is 20 mph.
Both, X7 and X7 Pro are powered with 350 W brushless motor built-in front wheel. Also, both models are using 36 V batteries, but the X7 Pro has battery pack with bigger capacity 10 Ah vs 6.4 Ah at the X7. Thus, the X7 Pro has longer maximum range of 30 miles versus just 16 miles at X7.
Since Turboant electric scooters are with detachable batteries you can charge them in two modes. Battery Detached Charging means that you can easily detach the battery and charge it inside your home using battery charger. Or you can leave the battery on scooter and use Scooter Unit Charging via stem charging port. I liked the best that you can buy extra battery and keep it charged for longer rides. Just detach empty battery and replace it with extra battery. Bellow you can find Full Comparison of X7 and X7 Pro electric Scooters.
