Design and Main Features
The full name of this electric kick scooter is Xiaomi Mi M365, but you probably know it just as Xiaomi Mi electric scooter. First and foremost this is a relatively light and portable vehicle. It folds in just three steps and it is designed to be easily carried in the hand, inserted into the trunk of a car or entered into a tram, bus or office.
The Mi is a ligtweight electric scooter and weighs 27 lbs. However, it is not exactly for long-term carrying around, but you will endure the fact that you have to take it up the stairs or to the store, and when assembled, it fits under a slightly higher bed.
Xiaomi Mi electric scooter is made of a combination of metal and polycarbonate in a dark gray or white version and it is waterproof according to IP54 certification meaning it can handle splashing of water from any angle. This model has 8,5″ inflatable tires for better performances over the bumps and for smoother ride experience. But, be aware that, since it has inflatable tires, sharp objects could cause damage to tires and puncure them.
Xiaomi Mi electric scooter is powered by a 250W motor located in the front wheel. The same engine paired with the rear disc is also used for braking. It will carry a person weighing up to 220 lbs at a maximum speed of 16 mph in standard and 11 mph in economy mode. The 18650 mAh battery by LG is located in the chassis and it will provide up to 18.6 miles range on a single charge.
An interesting feature is the Cruise control which is activated by driving at a constant speed for a longer time. This is useful because maintaining a constant speed actually saves battery life.
About LED Indicator and Mi Home App
Very useful feature of this scooter is its LED indicator placed on the steering wheel. This indicator lets you know how much juice has left in the battery and it roughly informs you about the percentage of remaining battery capacity with 4 indicator dots. 4 dots means that battery is full and 1 dot means that you should look for the charger soon. To fully recharge the battery you will need up to 5 hours.
For more precise info about battery status and other features you should get Mi Home app, and install it on your smartphone. Once you have installed the app you will be able to check detailed info about battery status and health, the status of your vehicle, info about your current or last trip.
Also, through this app you will will be able to update the scooter firmware and adjust some basic settings and lock the scooter. Bluetooth connection will enable to easily pair the scooter with your smartphone.
