Cyrusher is known for their popular and well built electric bikes. One of their most popular model of e-bikes is the Cyrusher Bandit folding electric bike. The Bandit represents a remarkable transformation from its predecessor, the XF690. This folding electric bicycle boasts an impressive frame reminiscent of a motorcycle, complete with a robust front fork and a sizable headlight. Moreover, its distinctive, freshly crafted paintwork is bound to capture attention wherever you go.

Even if it may look like a standard folding electric bike, the Bandit features some important differences when compared to most run-of-the-mill electric bikes. First of all it departs from the rest of the pack with its battery design and comfortable controls, powerful 750 W motor and 4 x 26 inch all-terrain puncture-resistant fat tires and enhanced range up to 60 miles on a single charge.

Ideal for urban commuters, the Bandit’s versatility extends beyond city streets. With its sturdy fat tires and full suspension system, it effortlessly transitions into a formidable mountain e-bike, offering an exceptional riding experience in various terrains. In this in-depth review of the Cyrusher Bandit we will dive into its design, performance, features, speed, range, battery and we will deliver our final verdict.

The retail price of the Bandit ranges between $1899 -$2099, and it is not one of the most affordable folding electric bikes on the market, but it is definitely one of the best at the moment. Considering all the high end equipment and features it is even cheaper than most similar competing fat tire folding electric bike brands. There are cheaper folding e-bikes out there, but they generally have much smaller wheels and lower top speeds. With 26″ wheels and a max speed of 25 mph, the Bandit is a top runner in the niche.

Design

The Bandit feels like a well constructed and powerful e-Bike able to conquer all-terrains. However, make notice that this is not a full sized mountain electric bike but rather an all-terrain recreational e-Bike for daily users and recreational riders. You won’t be able to do stunts or racing through forests on this bike. It has its limitations.

On the other hand, it offers pretty comfortable and fun riding experience, especially because it features long battery life of up to 60 miles on a single charge. Thanks to powerful 750 W motor and 9-speed Shimano thumb shifter no terrain will remain unconquered. With a press of a button, you can swift between speeds easily from gear 1 to 9, which is very useful on uphills or when your battery runs out when you can use the Cyrusher Bandit as a regular bike. It has a decent amount of adjustability, including saddle height and handlebar height.

The Bandit has adjustable front fork with lock for more comfortable ride over lawns, beaches, stone roads, mountains and other terrain. Also, there is a rear spring suspension bringing this model closer to true electric mountain bike. Combined with 26″ puncture-resistant fat tires it is more than sufficient for smoothing out road imperfections and don’t seem to magnify sidewalk cracks. Since the tires are puncture resistant and this is very useful if you are going to off-road riding.

Motor, Battery, Speed and Range

As with the most of electric bikes you have to pedal for a second or so before the thumb throttle becomes active. This is a cost and energy-saving measure designed into majority of electric bikes and scooters. Once you’re moving, you have full control of the throttle, even after braking (just don’t come to a full stop). The motor immediately kicks in speeding the bike to top speed of 25 mph in no time. The 750W motor impressed me with its ability to reach maximum speed in just a few seconds.

The half-twist throttle is nicely designed compared to most throttles I’ve tried. It has a more ergonomic design, though it does take some time to get used to if you’re more familiar with the typical thumb throttles. In no time you will get to it.

The best thing about the Bandit folding electric bike is its battery. It has removable LG/Samsung/Panasonic 48 V, 17 Ah high capacity battery. Thanks to that maximum range on a single charge goes up to 60 miles. Of course, you need to use pedal assist to reach this maximum range. But, on throttle only mode the range is still impressive and goes up to 25 miles, depending on terrain conditions and rider’s weight.

Components

It is nice to know that the Cyrusher Bandit features higher end components such as disc brakes, adjustable saddle (hight and position adjustable), ergonomic handle grips, LCD display and built-in front LED lights. The LCD display is very clear and shows current speed, traveled distance, trip time, max speed, average speed and pedal assistance level.

Final Verdict

The Bandit folding electric bike with 26″ fat tires offers a lot of value for $1899. The bike works well, is comfortable to ride, travels quickly at 25 mph and is light enough to easily carry up if needed. The battery is impressive and ability to charge the battery while on a bike or to remove it and carry to a house or office is a big plus. The Bandit isn’t going to blow anyone away, but it has high end features and equipment, peppy enough to have a lot of fun on.
