You’re looking for a foldable electric scooter that can handle both commuting and off-road adventures? Than the YUME D4+ electric scooter is the right thing for you. You must be asking what is YUME? YUME is a brand of high-performing electric scooters made for urban ride as well as for off-road riding and racing. Maybe you already stumbled upon these scooters but under different brand – NANROBOT. Sounds familiar?

The D4+ features powerful dual 2000W motor (2 x 1000W) able to produce power enough for any terrain and it is a decent performer. There is one motor on each wheel giving you all-wheel-drive capabilities on two wheels.

But, what else does this robust and high-performing beast offer? Is it worth the price? Just keep reading and find out its features and possibilities.

The Price of D4+ Electric Scooter

First of all you need to know that YUME D4+ is a high-end electric scooter that costs $1289, but sometimes you can find it for less if you catch some discount, usually during the holidays. At the moment it is available for $1190 and you can order it now here. The YUME D4+ is a pricey and if you are looking cheaper or first time yet effective e-scooter maybe is better to check Hiboy S2 Pro, Gotrax G4, Turboant X7 Pro or Fiat 500. All these are much cheaper, but still powerful and with great features for commuter e-scooters.

On the other hand, the YUME D4+ is ultimately effective foldable electric scooter that experienced users will find very attractive. Be warned though, if you are just getting started in the world of electric scooters, the extreme speeds of 40 mph that you find with this e-scooter won’t just be overwhelming, they will also be dangerous. However, if you are an experienced rider looking for trill and ultimate fun, and you have some spare money to spend look no further. The D4+ is powerful, fast, and sturdy, making it a great product for urban and off-road riding.

Design and Main Features of YUME D4+ e-Scooter

The YUME D4+ looks robust and powerful, and we can’t say no to that. It features minimalistic design present with the most of off-road runners today. It is equipped with an LCD display, a voltage anti-theft lock, and what I liked the most wide. I am a sucker for wide decks because the wider the deck the ride is more comfortable for your feet.

It’s a high speed scooter with a foldable design, which is great for storing it in tight spaces or carrying for short distances. Remember, it weighs 60 lbs, so it’s not practical to carry it around for longer period of time. Foldable design is present to allow you easy storage and lower space consumption when not in use. The folding mechanism is so simple that I loved it at a first site.

The YUME D4+ has super durable frame made of strong aluminum alloy, which gives the rider extra confidence during off-road riding. It stands on chubby fat 10-inch tires, and together with a front suspension system that uses four springs plus two rear springs provides you comfortable ride even over the bigger bumps and potholes. You can expect a comfortable ride no matter where you are using it.

Extra sturdy and durable frame allows it to support a rider that weighs up to 330 pounds. I have around 250 lbs and there were no problems riding it in urban and off-road conditions.

Motor, Battery, Speed and Range of D4+

As I already said, the D4+ comes with powerful dual 2000W motor (1000 W on each wheel) able to boost the speed to maximum 40 mph. It’s a super crazy speed and I recommend it only to experience riders. There were no problems to speed up fast on uphills and on downhills I almost felt like Superman.

As a power source the D4+ is equipped with 52V, 23.4Ah high capacity battery providing enough power to ride as far as 40 miles on a single charge. You can switch between single and dual motor mode, and when it’s on single motor mode the battery lasts longer. However, when it’s on single motor mode maximum performances are lower. Thanks to two charging ports you can connect it to two chargers, essentially cutting down charging time in half. When it’s on dual charging you will need 4 to 5 hours to fully recharge the battery.

Shipping and Availability

YUME has a whole range of electric scooters (12+ models) for urban and off-road riding. All these models are available worldwide. Thanks to warehouses in the USA, Europe and China your order usually arrives in 3-7 days (except in case when it’s shipped from China and then it arrives in 14-40 days). The shipping price is already incorporated into the price and you don’t need to worry about it.

Final Verdict

The YUME D4+ is a high speed, sturdy and durable electric scooter with impressive capabilities. However, it is not cheap, but you can’t expect a top-notch model to be cheap.

This is definitely going to be a scooter that is best suited for people with plenty of experience. The crazy speeds of 40 mph are unpleasant and probably very dangerous for first time riders. The YUME D4+ is more a racing than a commuting e-scooter and it’s a must have for riders that like off-roading, or just enjoying crazy speeds.

For less experienced riders I recommend Glion Dolly, Apollo City, Hiboy Max3, Gotrax XR Ultra, Gotrax G4, Levy Plus, Fiat 500 etc. Check all electric scooter reviews.
